2027 Volkswagen Atlas Specs
The redesigned VW Atlas will feature a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is tuned to make 282 horsepower, a 13-horsepower increase over the previous version. This three-row SUV will also come standard with front-wheel drive, though 4MOTION AWD is available (and comes standard on the top two trim levels).
When properly equipped, the 2027 Volkswagen Atlas will be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds, allowing you to bring a small boat out to the water or a pair of dirt bikes to the track. This maximum towing capacity is the same as that of some of the 2026 models you may find in our new Atlas inventory.
2027 Volkswagen Atlas Trims
As we noted above, there are four 2027 Volkswagen Atlas trims to choose from. The entry-level Atlas SE is replete with desirable amenities, including a power liftgate, keyless entry, Park Distance Control, 10-color ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, three-zone climate control, and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel.
If you step up to the SE with Technology trim, you'll enjoy 20-inch wheels, a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a Rearview Mirror with HomeLink® and a compass. The SEL R-Line variant boasts standard 4MOTION AWD, R-Line design elements, chrome window surrounds, and silver roof rails. It also gets a panoramic sunroof, allowing natural light to fill your cabin on sunny days.
The top-tier 2027 Volkswagen Atlas SEL Premium R-Line adds 21-inch wheels, mirror puddle lights with the VW logo, power folding mirrors, and Nappa leather upholstery. It also has an upgraded massaging function and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon® sound system with a center speaker and a subwoofer.
